The 26-year old Copenhagen-based producer & musician Molina creates elastic and articulate art pop music that isn’t afraid to embrace virtues of both experimental as well as pop in her songwriting. Molina explores synthetic textures in a mix with acoustic classical instruments, such as flutes and violins. Molina aka Rebecca Molina is trying to humanize electronic textures and making the acoustic instruments more computerized. Molina possesses a powerful blend of confidence and sensitiveness, a self-relying and self- made artist that began writing her own music at the early age of 8 inspired by what her mom played for her, including artists like Kate Bush, Enigma and Royksopp.
Later in her teens Molina got her music education from searching the corners of myspace and youtube following the trail of like minded bands and artists. As a result Rebecca found herself obsessed with both the dark wave and goth scene of the 70s and 80s and electronic pioneers like Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Autechre. Today Rebecca had drawn the contours of what would become her solo project Molina, with inspirations from japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, Phillip glass and current artists like Hannah Diamond, Drab Majesty and SOPHIE.
In early 2017 Molina’s debut EP Corpus was released and highlighted by media like BBC Radio 6 Music, Beats 1, The 405 and The Line of Best Fit among others.
Molina will be releasing her new debut album in 2019 trough Tambourhinoceros.
